The following pieces explore the intersection between sound and music.

Made using found sounds, manipulated in the DAW.
The goal of this project was to bring out the musicality in everyday sounds in order to tell a story. Some of these sounds were shoe scrapes, squeaky doors, a microwave, a urinal, and laughter.
Loop-based.
The goal in this piece was to break everything up into small pieces, but instead of using a granular synthesizer I did it by hand.
I reconstructed a vocal by playing sampled vowel and consonant sounds on a MIDI keyboard.
I made percussive loops that could change the rate at which they looped in real time. Pushing this rate to extremes turned the rhythmic content into pitched content.
And then to wrap it all up I granulized the whole song by muting and unmuting the master rapidly, and changing the tempo of the song over time.
Ableton Live
Using only the Ableton Live sampler.
This project explores what kinds of sounds emerge when music is pushed to its limit. And then builds a new song around such sounds. I used only samples of songs (including some of my own).

A sequenced FM bass sound.
Modular Synthesis
This was my stint into modular synthesis. A friend and I tinkered in VCV rack and created this piece, which we later sampled from to create the following composition:
Us in the studio!
To the left is the bass sound in the beginning that ramps up. The effect was achieved by manipulating the time control of the delay in real time.

A modular synth made in Max/MSP
